International Midwifery Project

Please read the information sheet about the research study. After reading, please click register to enroll in the study.
This study is being undertaken to help us understand the well-being of international midwives and to evaluate the benefits of the various resources you will be offered during your training period in the UK. With your help, we may also be able to improve future interventions and support for midwives. Please read the following information carefully, and please contact us at the contact details below if you need further information.

What will I have to do?

If you agree to take part, you will be asked to complete 3 online questionnaires on 3 separate occasions over a 9-12-month period. Each questionnaire will take between 15-20 minutes to complete. You will be asked to answer questions about your mental health and well-being, social relationships, and coping strategies. We will also ask for some basic demographic information including your age, gender, marital status, and how many children you have. The questionnaires will be sent to you automatically from our secure online system.

If you would like to take part, please complete the consent form below, and provide your name, email, and mobile number. This contact information will be kept separate in a secure database.

When you begin your questionnaire(s), you will be asked to login with your email and the last four digits of your mobile phone number. This is to allow us to check who has provided a unique link which will allow your questionnaire responses to be linked together. Please note that NO personal identifying information (name, contact details, telephone, etc) will be linked to your questionnaire answers.

If you decide that you would like us to stop sending you any information, please contact us using the information below and we will delete your contact details from the database.

Why have I been asked to take part?

You are invited to participate in this study because you are taking part in a training and support program for international midwives with the All4Maternity organization.

Do I have to take part?

No - it is entirely up to you if you take part or not. If you decide not to take part, this will not affect the training and support you receive.

Please note that any information you provide in the questionnaire will be used for the study but it is up to you whether you complete all or only some of the questions.

What are the benefits of taking part?

While there will be no direct benefits of taking part, your involvement will help us explore the mental health and well-being of midwives and the benefits of the different types of support you receive. We hope to use the information you share to develop the programme further and to help identify effective strategies.

What are the possible disadvantages or risks of taking part?

Taking part in the study will take up some of your time. The questionnaires should take approximately 15-20 minutes. The questions are not intended to cause emotional distress, but there is always the possibility that you may feel uncomfortable when thinking about your experience. If you do require further support, please speak to the All4Maternity staff, and they can tell you about the different options available to you.

What will happen with the information collected?
